I am very excited about this marathon finish and to set another PR.  One of my main goals was to finish under 2 hours in my last 2 marathons of the Grand Slam (done).  I really did have to slow down a lot on the hills resulting in 5 miles 7 plus minute miles.  I was happy though that I was able to have a negative split time by 2 minutes.  I just wish I could have pushed a little harder in the 1st half.  The weather was a challenge and I didn't know how it would be.  I wore a garbage bag for the 1st 8 miles and then took it off and finally ditched my hat and gloves at mile 18.  Overall what a great year of running though, it will be fun to go into a different age division next time  I race and see how I compare.

Congrats Rich on an awesome time in very slow conditions. You have been running so well as of late and you are going to do very very well in the Masters AD. Too bad for me I'm in the same AD and have to compete with guys like you!

Stud. I have enjoyed getting to know you. You really did well, and we can now say (using Tom's terms) we ran the St. George Monsoon Marathon of 2008. Keep running along!

Thanks, it went pretty well, the weather certainly wasn't ideal but much better than extreme heat for me.

Great way to wrap up an outstanding year of running. Glad to see you move into another age division. I always seem to be a couple of minutes behind you.
