The Run of My Life! What a Great day to PR and reach the dream of the 2:40's At one point I thought I might actually reach 2:45 which is something I really want but I walk away from this one really believing it can happen. Here are my mile breakdowns 1 - 6:02.14 2- 6:17.69 3- 6:01.24 4- 5:56.13 5- 6:00.64 6- 5:56.27 7- 5:52.07 8- 6:53.90 --- Some doubts crept in with the hill difficulty
9- 6:54.93 10- 6:48 11- 7:02 12- 6:48 13- 6:23 -- Starting to get my 2nd wind 14 - 6:30 15- 6:08.21 16- 6:04.26 17- 6:27.29 18- 6:28.09 19- 6:54.04 20- 6:25.16 21- 6:10.27 22- 6:44.39 23- 6:41.27 24- 6:35.20 -- Saw my watch read 2:34 after 24 and I knew 2:45 was not reachable but that I could still break 2:50, so I tried to hang strong.
25- 6:50.39 26- 6:59.46 .25 - 1:34.59 I sprinted to the finish and was so excited about being done. Felt better than many marathons, although I was still kinda sick for a while. Very Grateful for my experience and finish on the year and for being able to stay healthy all the way. I don't know when my next marathon is and it's amazing that it is kinda dissapointing to not know. It was fun seeing all you bloggers there, it is great to have a group of friends cheering an rooting for eachother.

| I woke up this morning and I didn't feel great, I wondered if I should even run, but I had set a goal for this week and so I just went out the door to see how I might feel today and play it by ear. I actually had a pretty decent run and I fueled up with an energy bar before I left and in between and I felt better. I wasn't fast at all but I reached the goal mileage. At 41 years old I can still put up some good miles. Happy for my Sunday day of rest tomorrow. |
