| I had to climb a uphill battle, my headphones broke last night and I was sick wednesday and I haven't run since then. At about mile 18 I didn't have much left so I just held on the best I could all things considered I beat last years time but I was a little dissappointed I wanted to break 3 hours again. |

| I ran 5 miles with my dog as a warm up early this morning at about 8 minute pace. I enjoyed my run and it was fun. I setup with a better strategy for race day today, I committed early not to take off as fast as I could, I committed to stay at about 6:40 pace early, I didn't do perfect at that as I ran my first mile at 6:05 but I recognized it and I slowed myself down and stayed with my plan at about mile 10 I saw a window and picked my pace up a bit and pushed to the end, I even passed a few runners that I had trailed the entire race. It wasn't a PR for me but I felt really good about my overall race and certainly a confidence builder going into Boston. I didn't feel spent after the race, I actually felt great, here comes Boston - 2 weeks away. |

| Overall a great experience. I took what the race gave me early on and I took the hills in stride and just kept a good strong pace and never let up. I wish I would have turned it up a little more down into Boston I think I could have broken 3 hours but overall I really think I spent my energy well. I am pretty happy with the overall race. I have never seen so many fans in my life what an event. I hope I get to go again. |

| I got carried away on the downhill start to the race and it carried me to about 10 when I started to weaken, by 13 my pace had slowed up the hill at 14 I maintained ok till the Dam and then I sped up for a couple of miles, I was fine until I hit the park out of the canyon when I started hurting. I got a horrible side ache which brought me to walking a couple of times. I have to figure out how to deal with a side-ache as I never have them in training. I was at 2:40 with 3 to go and really fell apart including a 9:31 mile 26. Overall, I am very discouraged with this race. I don't think it's a bad time I just have worked my butt off this spring and it didn't pay off today. I do think that the Sun is always a difficult factor for me as I train so early in the morning. I look forward to a 6am start at Utah Valley. |

| I miscalculated my time with 4 miles to go and thought I had made my Sub 3 again. The Last 4 miles I averaged about 7:35 and it killed my chances at a Sub 3. I really hit the wall at 23 and I held on and finished well. I was excited because I really thought this years race was as hard or harder than last year, and this year I didn't get passed by anyone coming in last year I was passed by 2 guys in the last two miles, this year I passed two guys in the last 2 miles, much better feeling. Although I am disappointed to miss Sub 3, I am still confident I can do it this year. |

Really a very tough race. I started out too fast as usual Mile 1 - 6:05 Mile 2 - 6:34 Mile 3 - 6:51 Mile 4 - 6:39 - In 1st Place till the end of this mile Mile 5 - 6:47 - Took a little potty break on this mile too
Mile 6 - 6:54 Mile 7 - 6:19 Mile 8 - 6:53 Mile 9 - 6:57 Mile 10 - 6:53 Mile 11 - 7:00 Mile 12 - 7:04 Mile 13 - 7:19 Mile 14 - 7:35 Mile 15 - 7:59 Mile 16 - 8:53 -- Really I was having a little trouble eating a bar I brought and I walked to try and get it down. I was passed by 2nd place here. Mile 17 - 7:04 Mile 18 - 7:12 Mile 19 - 7:13 - Included walking up the end of the steep portion where I was passed by 3rd place.
Mile 20 - 7:35 - Meet my friend the WALL! I was struggling here Mile 21 - 7:27 Mile 22 - 7:40 - Still Struggling on both of these miles stopped looking a the watch just hanging on. Mile 23 - 7:16 - Actually got a little inspired and passed some half marathon runners, felt pretty good on this mile. Almost enough inspiration to make a move on 3rd place but not quite.
Mile 24 - 7:30 - Hanging in there pretty good, now I know I can finish just trying to hold the pace and not give in. Mile 25 - 7:51 - Really a little mental lapse, struggling a little and looked a my watch too many times on this mile to see if it was over. Mile 26 - 7:33 - Ok, so I picked it up a little because I knew this was it and I could finish stronger. Overall 4th Place, pretty sure I won my age division, the course was even tougher than expected really, probably the toughest course I have experienced. I was pretty disappointed that the awards ceremony was cancelled. Considering how stressful this week has been and how tired I have felt I am pretty happy with the result.

The Run of My Life! What a Great day to PR and reach the dream of the 2:40's At one point I thought I might actually reach 2:45 which is something I really want but I walk away from this one really believing it can happen. 9- 6:54.93 10- 6:48 11- 7:02 12- 6:48 13- 6:23 -- Starting to get my 2nd wind 14 - 6:30 15- 6:08.21 16- 6:04.26 17- 6:27.29 18- 6:28.09 19- 6:54.04 20- 6:25.16 21- 6:10.27 22- 6:44.39 23- 6:41.27 24- 6:35.20 -- Saw my watch read 2:34 after 24 and I knew 2:45 was not reachable but that I could still break 2:50, so I tried to hang strong.
25- 6:50.39 26- 6:59.46 .25 - 1:34.59 I sprinted to the finish and was so excited about being done. Felt better than many marathons, although I was still kinda sick for a while. Very Grateful for my experience and finish on the year and for being able to stay healthy all the way. I don't know when my next marathon is and it's amazing that it is kinda dissapointing to not know. It was fun seeing all you bloggers there, it is great to have a group of friends cheering an rooting for eachother.

I just have to get over this one. 1- 5:29 2- 5:36 3- 6:10 4- 7:10 -- Slow up the dirt trail 5- 7:25 -- "" 6- 6:42 -- Faster but not fast enough 7- 7:05 -- Slowed a little 8- 6:31 -- A little Better 9- 6:57 -- Slower again 10- 6:49 - not much quicker 11- 7:04 - Slow again 12- 6:59 -- "" 13- 6:37 -- At least finished slightly quicker Uncomfortably warm for sure and a late start with the women starting 30 minutes earlier. The race was totally disorganized.

So, I ran this morning and had a good run of 17.73. Then in the afternoon I went and ran with a new group. I tweaked my right foot / ankle and I don't know how I am going to recover. (CRAP) I really think it was the new shoes I wore in the afternoon run that I had never worn.
