Nice job sticking to it. Being hurt has caused me to lose fitness and appreciate where I was.

My first marathon of the year.  It was a really trying experience.  At mile 3 I started getting a blister on my left foot near my toes, it really was sore the whole marathon.  I really haven't worked on my speed, which always is a problem with my winter training.  I felt good about my overall endurance especially through the pain.  Even with my struggles with my foot I beat my time from the last 2 years by one minute.  I hung on strong and I am pretty happy with the results.

I ran up the canyon 9 miles today (uphill , upwind) I felt pretty strong and good about it.  I had to run on snow which made it slower.  I didn't have the energy I wanted to really push it the last 2 miles but I felt pretty good about my overall workout.

Rich, you are looking good. I will look for you at Ogden. I have no idea how I will do, as you've probably noted I took 8 weeks off of running to try to get my achilles feeling better.

Today was a good day.  I felt good at the Start.  I felt strong through 6.  I took it easy through hills Miles 6-9.  I took what the course gave me from 9 - 20, then I hung on and didn't completely fall apart on the last 6.  My slow miles were 7 minutes plus.  My slowest mile was 7:23.  I wish I had more to give but I was very happy to return to sub 3 pace.  It was a good course but a little tougher than I expected.  Overall I am happy with the reesult.  I come away being intent to train harder and work harder on SPEED so I can get some miles in the 5 minute zone, that will get me to where I dream of being at about 2:45 at St. George and Top of Utah.

Wow, I started out feeling kinda winded and I couldn't find anyone to join me for my run.  I woke up feeling pretty tired from a really busy stressful work day.  I stuck with my resolve to go long today though and it paid off.  I started off really slow at about 8minute pace up Hobble creek canyon for 10 miles but I picked up the pace as I continued up the canyon and on the way back I resolved to break a 6 minute mile and I did it although not by much I pulled a 5:59 on mile 12 and followed that with a 6:55, that was it for 5's and 6's for the day but it was a good week and I feel like I am pulling speed back out.  I will by trying to put some speed back into my workouts again.   I feel great 1 week after UV Marathon.  7:36 avg pace for the run

It wasn't easy, it nearly killed me doing 20 today.  I can't say it was a real confidence boost.  This run was nearly as difficult as some marathons have been for me.  I have to start getting some confidence runs in.
